Currently!

APRIL is here!! I repeat...APRIL is here!!!
Can I get a WoooHooo?

I need spring here now!
I mean it was 73 degrees here today (and felt so good) but they are calling for possible snow on Tuesday...are you kidding me? Ain't nobody got time for that!  Lol.

While we wait patiently for spring to be here...for good...you can read my April's currently.

I'm watching the news right now! I feel like I haven't seen it in forever.  This girl 's gotta stay current with the world happenings! I feel so empty if I don't know what's going on in the world--DORK- I know!

I just love that April is here.  I can smell and feel spring--now it just needs to stay!

It's hard to believe that we only have 8 weeks left of school.  Man, I feel like I have SO much left to teach and I keep thinking, 'are my kids ready to move on to first grade?'.... I sure hope so!!

I'm so proud of my college- Wichita State University!! Last night was epic---we moved on to the final four in basketball.  It was an amazing win and our city is so excited!! I sure hope they get to the championship game and win the whole thing!! GO SHOCKERS!!!

I'm really needing my husband home right now--just for my sanity! He deployed the day after Christmas and it feels like he's been gone forever! Man, I just can't wait to see him again... 5 weeks can't go fast enough!!

Always remember, you can do it---slow down and take one day at a time! That's what I keep thinking everyday dealing with 2 children alone, a house, cars, etc.  You never know what you can really do until you HAVE to!! You are strong!

Egg clues!

Hi guys.
Can you feel that? Friday is right around the corner!!

I'm here with you today to show you some of the egg clues as I promised from yesterday's post. You didn't see yesterday's post? Click here to read about it!!

Here are a few pictures I snapped of a couple students eggs, their item and their clues.

The students get the stand up at the front of the class hold their egg and read their clues. All of the kids love guessing to try to figure out what's inside each students egg. Nine times out of ten they guess correctly!!

I also have to share this really cute picture that was taken of my daughter and I today! Our whole school wore their favorite sports team shirt in honor of March Madness!!
As you can see, we are FL Gator fans!!
It was so neat to see everyones favorite team!

What's In The Egg??

Easter is right around the corner!
Wow, where did the time go??
It feels like New Years was just a week ago! Aghhh, only 9 weeks of school left and I feel like I have so much left to teach---time to kick it into high gear!!

I wanted to share with you an activity that my teammates and I do at Easter time.
It's a simple little activity, the kids love it and it gets them writing and using adjectives! (And it gets the parents involved in helping their student write!)

It's a little game that's called guess what's in the egg!
We simply send home this note and a plastic Easter egg inside of a gallon size Ziploc baggie.
We give them a few days to bring it back to school and most of them do!
The kids love reading the clues they've written and of course, the other kids in class love guessing!
It's a great activity to get the kids writing and using those adjectives.

I'll be back soon and I'll post some of the clues and items the kids have hidden in their eggs!

Some goodies for my classroom!!

It was a GREAT first day back from spring break!
The kids were so excited to tell us all what they did over the break and I was just as eager to hear about all of their adventures! They all seemed well rested and everyone stayed on white for their behavior today---I can't believe it!  AMAZING!!

Anywho, I wanted to share some of my goodies that I've picked up over the last week or so.  I bought a few things when I went to Kansas City for the blogger meet up and a few other things while I was in Georgia.  Take a look at my loot:
A table top foldable pocket chart--great for doing a pocket chart activity while sitting at their table for daily 5.  Three big dice that you can slide pictures or words into the sides and magnetic high frequency words that are color coded based on their part of speech! (Purchased at Mardel's)
Dog bone erasers---these will be a great counting manipulative for a dog themed game my friend just made! (Purchased at U.S. Toy)
"Water" boarders---we are ocean themed next year and these will be perfect! (Purchased at U.S. Toy)
Hook fingers--great for using when doing small group reading! (U.S. Toy)
Cool number spinners---my kids will love using these instead of the usual square dice! (U.S. Toy)
Apple, sports and bee erasers--I plan on using these as counting manipulative's for adding and subtracting games! (U.S. Toy)
A little bowling set---I'll use this for subtraction stories!  The kids will die when they see this!! (U.S. Toy)
I've been needing number stamps for forever!
Bigger 'real' looking coins---these will be great visuals and sorting mats when we look at money again soon.
(The above items were purchased at GA School Supply!)

Then I found some really great books about life cycles!

(Books were purchased at Books A Million)

Whew... that was a lot! I'm so excited unwrap all of goodies and get them in my classroom!  And all of these books will be great when we get into animal and plant life cycles soon in Science!!
Have you scored any goodies lately??  If so, tell me about them!

Spring Break is over!

Aghhh..... that's my last sigh of spring break!
That's right guys.
I go back to the grind tomorrow.
Spring break was fun while it lasted!
But I sure do miss my kiddos and can't wait to hear all of the stories from the past week!!

This spring break I was lucky enough to fly and visit my family in Georgia!
I made this trek alone considering my husband is still deployed (5 weeks folks and he'll be home!! YAY!!!!!). Sorry, I digressed.  Anyways, yes, visiting Georgia...it was a great trip! I got to see some great friends, spend some great quality time with my family members and I even made time to eat at ALL of my favorite restaurants!! Yes, I'm that  girl that daydreams about yummy food that I can't wait to eat again!!  Take a look a few of favorites!!
I love those Kyrstal chicken sandwiches!!
 OHMYWORD!!! I love some Zaxby's!!
The true southern girl in me was craving some real grits! Of course, I had to go to Waffle House for them!!  YUM-O!!!

I swear I'm not pregnant....I just love yummy food!!

These were so beautiful flowers that were in full bloom....
I got to meet my newest nephew who is 2 weeks old---a total highlight of my trip of course!!!
And one of the sweetest moments I caught on camera was this...
We had just arrived in Atlanta and my daughter was so excited that grandpa was picking us up!!
She latched right on him and wouldn't let go.
How sweet, right?!?

Well, tomorrow I will be reunited with my school babies again!!
I can't wait to see their smiling faces again.

If you're going back to work again, good luck! Double check your alarms!!
If you're just starting spring break, enjoy it!! It goes quick!

Kansas City blogger meet-up!!

Oh my word! I had so much fun this weekend!!

If you read my post from Friday or if you saw my Facebook page, you know that I was meeting up with some fellow kinder bloggers. We met up in Kansas City on Saturday and Sunday and had the best time!! These girls were so much fun we had tons of laughs! At one point during the trip my cheeks were hurting from smiling and laughing so much! We of course visited the local teacher store, a local toy store, and I think it goes without saying that we did tons of shopping for our selves and our own kids too!

Here's a picture of me and the girls!
Do you know these fellow bloggers??
Erica from The Eagle's Nest, Kaci from Mrs. Hoffer's Spot, Jennifer from Hearding Kats in Kindergarten, and me!

Take a look at 1/2 of our loot that we bought on day one.
There *may* have been some more purchases on day two! Lol...
Yeah that's what happens when four girls get together--A lot of money gets spent!!

Here's a picture of some of the other goodies we scored.
These great games retail for $15.00 each but we scored them for $4.99 each from TJMaxx! We bought 2-4 each and the cashiers thought we were crazy for buying all of these!

Here is the shopping center where we did a good deal of shopping- Legends!  Have you ever been??  I love their stores! It's an amazing outlet mall!

They have a T-Rex cafe at Legends and Jennifer couldn't resist taking a picture with the dinosaur! (Please note the little black sign towards the bottom left--it reads 'please do not climb on the rocks'.... ha ha ha!  She is quite the daredevil!)

Erica showed us this hidden treasure... U.S. Toy!! This store is HUGE and the entire back half of the store is Oriental Trading---can you say JACKPOT!!!  We all left with a bag full of goodies from here!
This is the view when you first walk in.  I couldn't even capture the entire store in these pictures!!
It was really a HUGE store!!

These were just a few of the things we did on our trip!
Soon I'll show you some of the goodies I bought...I'm so excited and can't wait to use them in my classroom!

Five for Friday!

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for this weeks Five for Friday!

This week FLEW by--seriously, it felt like it was Monday and then BAM---here it is on Friday night!! I'm not complaining though...  Okay, here are few fun things from this week!

1.  I posted my newest activity with base ten blocks on TpT!
I just love all of the colors on the background and the bunny is so darn cute too!

2. My kids are doing great with their reading skills.  I'm impressed everyday with how much all of the kids are growing academically!  I started using this great little predictable readers with my kiddos that still need a little extra help...and they love them!

3.  At the beginning of the week I made a fun and different little math set! I found these adorable breakfast graphics and just had to get them!  I then transformed into a 'blisssful breakfast' math pack!

4.  Today officially starts spring break---YAY!!!!
I love my class kiddos but I think we all need this break!

5.  (On this last one I'm cheating a little)
I'm super excited about a little Midwest blogger meet up tomorrow!!
I can't wait to blog about it and show you a few pictures of our good times!
And of course, I can't wait to actually meet some of my fellow kinder bloggers face-to-face!
